For those that like a bit more informationIt is difficult to answer every question when everyone is so unique, but we have gathered some of our most frequently asked questions onto one page for you. If you have a question we haven’t answered get in touch and we will respond as soon as possible.

Academy sessions are weekly sessions at Tubers for secondary school children, with a maximum age of 17 years old.
At Tubers Academy we teach young people creative media skills, such as video production, video editing, graphic design, gaming videos and podcasting. We also work with young people to build their confidence, self esteem and help them build new friendships with other likeminded young people.

WHAT IS MINI-TUBERS?
Mini-Tuber sessions are weekly sessions at Tubers for primary school children, with a minimum age of 7 years old.
They work on monthly video projects in groups taking part in the various roles in a production crew. Mini’s also have time to play console and PC games as well as experience virtual reality in their session. Mini-Tubers is all about having fun, learning new skills and meeting new friends.

WHAT IS ALTERNATIVE PROVISION?
Tubers Alternative Provision Programme is for young people with additional needs, stuggling with mainstream education or requiring extra support to transition into education.
We offer daytime provision from 9am – 3:30pm Mon-Fri on either a small group or 1:1 basis.

DO YOU RUN HOLIDAY CLUBS?
We run a 3 day holiday club every school holiday and 3 clubs throughout the summer holidays. These are always sold out, so book in advance to secure a place!

Only the best birthday parties on the planet!! You can book a birthday party at Tubers and have exclusive access to our studios, esports setup, console gaming and virtual reality.

GENERAL FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
DOES TUBERS OPERATE ALL YEAR ROUND?
Yes! All Tubers sessions run all year round, including school holidays and bank holidays. The only time Tubers closes is for 2 weeks at Christmas.
WHAT HAPPENS AT CHRISTMAS?
The only time Tubers closes is 2 weeks at Christmas. These two weeks off are worked into the average monthly cost of membership fees already, so you do not pay for those sessions missed. Membership fees are calculator over 50 weeks of the year, spread over 12 monthly payments. (You are not committed to 12 months, you can cancel anytime).
CAN WE ATTEND FORTNIGHTLY?
Memberships are all based on attending weekly. Unfortunately, we can not offer an option to attend fortnightly.
DO YOU ACCEPT CHILD CARE VOUCHERS?
We do not currently accept child care vouchers.
IS THERE A SIBLING DISCOUNT?
Yes! Please use the contact form and we can arrange a sibling discount package for you.
WHAT IF I DON'T LIKE IT?
We offer one *free taster session per child to ensure your child wishes to join. Once you sign up for a membership you are committed for 1 month. No refunds are offered for leaving mid month.
HOW ARE PAYMENTS COLLECTED?
All membership payments are made via recurring card payment on the 1st of each month. We do not offer Direct Debit, Direct Payment (BACS) or Standing Order.
CAN I STAY WITH MY CHILD?
We understand joining a new club can be daunting, especially on the first day. Our mentors are amazing at settling in new members, making them feel comfortable and introducing them to new people. Unfortunately, parents can not join in with the session, however we are happy to give you a full tour before the first session starts. After that, you are welcome to wait in reception so you can be nearby.
CAN MY CHILD JOIN WITHOUT BEING ONLINE?
Not all parents want their child on social media sites such as YouTube, Facebook and Instagram, we understand. However, Tubers is fundamentally a place where we teach young people to create digital content that gets uploaded to the internet in one form or another.
All members must give media persmission to do this in order to join Tubers Academy. Your child may choose not to partake in the video projects or be filmed, but we can not guarantee they will not be featured in videos or photographs taken at Tubers by ourselves or other members.
CAN WE BRING OUR OWN VIDEOS TO EDIT?
Yes! We actively encourage our members to film outside, during the weekend, on their holidays etc and edit that footage at Tubers.
DO YOU MONETISE YOUTUBE CONTENT?
No! We do not monetise any content created at Tubers or uploaded to any of our Tubers channels.
WHAT EQUIPMENT DO WE NEED TO BRING?
All equipment such as cameras, microphones, lights etc is all provided, you do not need to bring your own filming equipment or computer. The only thing each Academy member needs is an SD card to record and keep their footage on. The only thing Mini-Tubers need is a USB stick. These both have a min spec to work and we sell both at the receptions should you need them.
DO YOU OFFER ADULT TRAINING?
Yes! We offer 1:1 or company training sessions. All training is tailored to your specific needs and priced accordingly. Please contacts us with the specifics of what you would like to learn and for how many people. A member of our commercial team will respond with a custom quote.
HOW DO I CANCEL MY MEMBERSHIP?
Why would you want do such a thing?!?! Only joking. If you need to cancel your membership that’s no problem, you are not tied in. There are 2 ways. Simply login to your Tubers Account via our website and you can cancel your membership. If you have any problems with that, simply email us using the form below and we can cancel it for you.

WHAT IS TUBERS ACADEMY?
At Tubers Acacemy we teach young people creative media skills, such as video production, video editing, graphic design, gaming videos and podcasting. We also work with young people to build their confidence, self esteem and help them build new friendships with other likeminded young people
WHAT WILL I LEARN AT TUBERS ACADEMY?
All members of the Academy work through our custom built training and growth path. Everyone start as ‘New-Tubers’, this is their initial learning phase where they get to understand and practice the fundamentals of video production, get their hands on the equipment and access the studios!
After completing their New-Tubers curriculum, they move through the various stages of our growth path including ‘Crew-Tubers’, ‘Creator’ & ‘Senior Creator’. More information on these stages can be discussed with a Senior Mentor.
WHO CAN ATTEND TUBERS ACADEMY?
Our Academy sessions are for secondary school children, with a maximum age of 17 years old.
We do also have sessions for primary school children, please see the ‘Mini-Tubers’ section for more information.
HOW MUCH IS A MEMBERSHIP?
We have 2 membership types for our Academy.
- Pro-Membership – This is 1x 2hr session per week, the cost is £62.50pm. This equates to £7.50 per hour.
- Elite-Membership – This is 2x 2hr sessions per week, the cost is £109pm. This equates to £6.50 per hour.
WHAT EQUIPMENT DO WE NEED TO BRING?
The only thing an Academy member needs is an SD card to record and keep their footage on. This must be a minimum 32g and 80mbs. We sell these on reception.
WHAT HAPPENS TO THE VIDEOS I MAKE?
Videos are the property of the member and as such they upload those videos to their own YouTube channels. Depending on the project, videos may be uploaded to official Tubers YouTube channels and social media accounts also.
WHAT HAPPENS TO MY VIDEOS?
All videos created are owned by the member. As such, they can post them to their own YouTube channels. All under 13’s can post their content to a managed Tubers Academy channel or take their footage home. Should parents wish to publish this footage after reviewing they are welcome to. All children 13+ may publish their content from Tubers.
We may on occation post members videos or part of, to Tubers social media accounts.

MINI-TUBERS FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
WHAT IS MINI-TUBERS?
Mini-Tubers is weekly sessions at Tubers for primary school children, with a minimum age of 7 years old. They work on montly video projects in groups taking part in the various roles in a production crew. They also have time to play games and virtual reality in their session. Mini-Tubers is all about having fun, learning new skills and meeting new friends.
HOW MUCH IS MINI-TUBERS?
Mini-Tubers costs £52.50 per month. For this each childs gets to attend a 1hr session per week. Each session attended is recorded and edited into a final showcase piece for the month by our team of creatives. This ensures their project gets finished each month and they can see themselves in the video.
WHO CAN ATTEND MINI-TUBERS?
These sessions are designed for primary school children, with a minimum age of 7 years old.
CAN I BRING MY OWN VIDEOS TO EDIT?
Mini-Tubers have structured projects to work on within a group. As such, they won’t be able to edit their own individual projects during a session.
WHAT EQUIPMENT DO WE NEED TO BRING?
Mini-Tubers are required to have a USB stick. This is used to store any gaming videos they make. These must be USB3 and a minimum 32g. We sell these on reception should you require one.
WHAT HAPPENS TO MY CHILDS VIDEOS?
Mini-Tuber videos are all pre-planned projects. The final video will be editied by their Senior Mentor and uploaded to the official Tubers Academy YouTube channel as well as our Facebook page and Instagram account.
WHEN CAN MY CHILD MOVE UP TO ACADEMY?
As a rule of thumb, Mini-Tubers can move up to Academy when they go to secondary school. However, if your child is in year 6 and feels they are ready to move up, please speak with their Senior Mentor. They can make the decision to move your child up early should all parties be in agreement that it’s beneficial to the child.
WHAT DO I LEARN AT MINI-TUBERS?
Mini-Tubers learn an age appropriate level of media skills such as video planning, scripting, using camera, microphones, video editing and creating gaming videos.

HOW IS ALTERNATIVE PROVISION FUNDED?
Predominently, AP is funded via EHCP. If your child has an EHCP and you feel Tubers may be beneficial to their education, well being, confidence or personal growth, please click here to see our Alternative Provision page and contact us to arrange a meeting.
HOW OFTEN CAN MY CHILD COME TO TUBERS?
The maxium time we can offer a child our Alternative Provision Programme is 15hrs per week (can vary between councils).

WHAT HAPPENS AT HOLIDAY CLUB?
Every school holiday we run awesome content creators Holiday Clubs!
Attendee’s get a taste of what it’s like being a content creator and learn the basic skills needed to get filming in our studios! We’ll show you how to use DSLR cameras, produce gaming content and edit your videos in Final Cut Pro X.
DO I NEED A MEMBERSHIP TO COME?
N0! Holiday club is open to non members also.

BIRTHDAY PARTY FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
WHAT HAPPENS AT A TUBERS BIRTHDAY PARTY?
A Tubers Birthday party is the best party in town! When you book a party with Tubers Academy, you get exclusive access to Tubers just for your party! Every party lasts for 2hrs and all parties are based around gaming. This means you have unlimited accesss to our entire gaming suite just for your party!
WHAT GAMING DO YOU GET AT A PARTY?
All of our academies have a dedicated gaming room. These have an eSports setup for PC gaming, Xbox’s, Playstations, Nintendo Switch and Virtual Reality! At a party, you get unlimited access to all these for 2hrs.
WHAT IS A VIDEO PARTY?
When you book a party with Tubers, you can add a video experience to your booking. This experience includes all the children taking part in making a YouTube video in one of our professional studios. We have a whole selection of challenge videos to choose from and you get to take away the footage filmed on a USB stick.
DO YOU PROVIDE FOOD AT PARTIES?
Unfortunately we no longer offer catering for parties at any of our centres. However, you are welcome to bring your own food or order takeaway to be delivered to the centre.
CAN WE BRING OUR OWN FOOD AND CAKE?
Yes! You are welcome to bring your own food and cake for a party. Please note that you will need to bring everything with you incuding plates and bowls for food, paper plates, cups and napkins for serving and eating. You are responsible for both preparing the food and tidying away.
HOW MUCH DOES A PARTY COST?
Parties start at £250, this is for a 2hr gaming party. You can add a YouTube video experience for £75.
HOW MANY CHILDREN CAN ATTEND A PARTY?
The maximum number of children for a party is 15, this includes the birthday child.
CAN PARENTS STAY FOR THE PARTY?
Yes, parents are welcome to stay for the party.
